Texas Attorney General v. Discord
The Attorney General's DTPA and SCOPE Act suit against Discord Inc., filed May 22, 2026, alleging Discord misrepresented the safety of its platform for minors. A temporary restraining order was secured at filing. On July 20, 2026, Judge Angela Tucker signed and entered an Agreed Temporary Injunction (Cause No. 199-03546-2026, 199th Judicial District, Collin County): within 90 days Discord must extend to Texas users the age-assurance and default-safety features it provides to UK users, and serve confidential written implementation reports on the State every 30 days until full compliance. The order expressly does not adjudicate, and Discord does not admit, any allegation, liability, or wrongdoing; it resolves only the State's application for temporary injunctive relief, and the court found that entering it was in the public interest. Discord preserved its special appearance and venue objections. Trial on the merits is set for June 2027.
